There isn’t a more festive place than Bayfield during the holidays. Sparkling lights decorate this quaint little town, which rests on the shores of Lake Superior and welcomes visitors as the gateway to the Apostle Islands. Whether holiday shopping, celebrating with friends, or taking advantage of Bayfield’s wealth of outdoor activities, bring the entire family to experience the holiday magic that this historic fishing village has to offer.
The season officially begins with the town’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, November 29. Enjoy holiday treats and warm beverages while listening to Christmas carols performed by the talented Rittenhouse Inn Singers in the Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion. Then, join in the procession as the crowd moves outside to serenade the holiday tree as it is ceremoniously lit for the season.

New this year – Holiday Shop Hop
The Bayfield Chamber & Visitor Bureau has organized a Holiday Shop Hop to encourage you to shop local for the holidays! The Shop Hop kicks off on Black Friday, November 28, and runs through Monday, December 15.
There are 22 local businesses participating in the Shop Hop. We will be mailing a Shop Hop Passport to residents in Bayfield, Washburn and La Pointe the week of November 23.. The idea is to take the Passport to participating businesses and get it stamped at as many possible. There will be no purchase required, you just have to stop in and get a stamp. Passports will also be available at participating businesses or you can download it HERE.
Return your stamped Passport to the Bayfield Chamber & Visitor Bureau (42 S. Broad St.) by Monday, December 15. We will be drawing winners from the Passports turned in. Passports that have 10 more stamps are eligible to win one of two $50 Bayfield Chamber gift certificates (redeemable at any Chamber member business). Passports with 18 or more stamps are eligible to win one of two $100 Bayfield Chamber gift certificates, plus a 10-item gift basket with goodies provided by the participating businesses.
