It's an action packed weekend February 3-5, 2012 and one you will never forget!
The Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race in Bayfield, Wisconsin, invites you to experience the Midwest's largest and most exciting sled dog races as a participating volunteer. Over 60 sled dog teams come to Bayfield to compete in this top sled dog event. You can request your spot as a volunteer - handle dogs by helping mushers hook up their teams or help bring teams up to the starting chute. Or, if you choose, assist at "check points" and communicate via radio on teams' progress, guide teams to stay on the trail or help enter times at the finish line.
Select a wonderful Voluntourism package that combines an electrifying day of sled dog competitition with magical evening snowfalls, warm firesides, and restful Northwoods nights.
The cost for this fantastic package is $350.00 per couple for a 2-night stay and $425.00 per couple for a 3-night stay and includes the following:
* 2 or 3 night lodging package
* Two Breakfasts (Saturday and Sunday)
* Friday evening "Meet the Mushers" Spaghetti Dinner
* Saturday - Volunteer at the Races beginning at 10:00 am
