Apostle Islands cruises and tours

Climb aboard an Apostle Islands Cruise Boat and discover the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore as you learn about the culture, geology and heritage of Lake Superior.

Located in Bayfield's downtown harbor, each summer hundreds of visitors board an Apostle Islands Cruise boat to learn more about the Great Lake. All of the cruises include a wonderful narrative pointing out the features, highlights and history along the way. There are a variety of tours available including a new tour of the Raspberry Island Lighthouse which opened in 2007 after extensive renovations. You won't want to miss the opportunity to visit this beautiful historically furnished lighthouse and enjoy hearing about the Heritage of the lighthouse keepers who lived there from a Park Ranger.

The Apostle Islands Cruise Service also offers a day hiker trip and camper shuttle to Stockton Island. Stockton Island's beauty has long been a favorite for hiking, picnicking, birdwatching, swimming, beachcombing and camping. Day users can enjoy 2 l/2 hours to explore groomed trails. Service is also provided to Oak Island for camping and offers great hiking trails.

Each year you'll want to enjoy a special September event, the Apostle Islands Lighthouse Celebration. Apostle Islands lighthouses comprise the greatest concentration of Park Service maintained light stations in North America. Enjoy special enrichment cruises and special events you can share with other lighthouse enthusiasts from around the nation. The Apostle Islands Lighthouse Celebration features visiting artists and authors, Keeper's dinners and reunion day, Park Service lectures and a lighthouse photography contest.
