Bayfield Apple Festival button contest now accepting entries
The Apple Festival Committee invites artists throughout the region to enter the 2011 contest. In addition to contributing to this historic memorabilia collection, the winning artist will also receive media coverage and $150.00 cash prize. Only button designs are being accepted this year. Bayfield Apple Festival Button Contest Submission Guidelines are as follows:
Entries must be emailed or postmarked by June 3rd, 2011 in order to be considered. Selection of design will be based on theme, craftsmanship, and reproducibility. Upon submission, all artwork becomes the property of the Bayfield Apple Festival. The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau reserves the right to administrate the use of the winning design. Artwork should be emailed to erin@bayfield.org or mailed to: Bayfield Apple Festival, P.O. Box 138, Bayfield, WI 54814. Marking its 50th year, Bayfield's Apple Festival is a celebration of everything apples and the historic local orchards that grow them. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, it has been touted by Wisconsin Trails Magazine as Wisconsin's "Best" festival, and listed among the "Top Ten Autumn Festivals in North America" by the Society of American Travel Writers. Visitors will enjoy over 60 orchard and food booths selling Bayfield's apples and apple delicacies, 150 art and craft booths, live entertainment by Big Top Chautauqua's Blue Canvas Orchestra, a family carnival with rides, grand parade with acclaimed 500 member Mass Band playing "On Wisconsin" and the list goes on!
