Bayfield Apple Festival Poster and Button Contest Winner Announced

Artist Tracey Steinkraus named winning artist for 2009 Apple Festival Button and Poster

The Bayfield Chamber & Visitor Bureau received almost 100 entries in this year's Apple Festival poster and button contest. Submissions were received from all over the midwest and from as far away as South America. This year the winner selected is Tracey Steinkraus from Osage Beach, Missouri.

Steinkraus, originally from Minnesota, has been visiting the Bayfield area for over 10 years and spends many summer weekends on the family's sailboat kept in Bayfield. Tracey loves spending her spare time hiking, camping, fishing and boating. Her inspiration for this year's poster and button were simply the beauty of the Bayfield area, "The artwork is trying to give the impression of lounging under an apple tree overlooking the orchard and gazing towards the beautiful Lake Superior in the background," explains Steinkraus. This year the winning designs were selected by the Bayfield Chamber Orchard Marketing Committee and they definitely agreed with Steinkraus' interpretation and were thrilled with this design.

Steinkraus has been working in the printing industry for the last 10 years and is currently working as a graphic designer for an advertising agengy in Osage Beach, Missouri.
