Bayfield's fruit farms are bursting with berries

Local farms offer the finest and freshest produce right in your backyard

Bayfield - Berry Capital of WI Bayfield Strawberries Apple Hill Cherries Blue Vista Raspberries

Did you know that Bayfield is the Berry Capital of WI? Visitors and locals alike are invited to enjoy the hands-on experience of picking berries in the field or purchase them already picked from a farm stand for immediate snacking opportunity.

Bayfield is home to over 14 orchards and fruit farms. Nowhere in Wisconsin can you find the variety and quality of Bayfield's many berries, beginning with strawberries, sweet cherries, and raspberries in July and running through September with blueberries and blackberries. Fruit afficianados will also be delighted to find tart cherries, currants, juneberries and gooseberries among the seasonal offerings.

Once you've picked your share of local fruit, download these easy berry recipes on bayfield.org, including Erickson's Strawberry Pizza, The Landmark's Bayfield Strawberry Mousse, and Blue Vista Farm's Raspberry Tart.

Berry updates can be found throughout the summer season on the Bayfield Chamber's website at bayfield.org or call (800) 447-4094 for more information.
