Bayfield's "First Fridays" Begin on December 3rd, 2010

Bayfield businesses are making it even easier to "Buy Local" this year with the launching of a new promotion called "First Fridays," beginning Friday, Dec. 3rd, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This ongoing event was designed by the Bayfield Chamber's Downtown Coalition to provide local and regional shoppers, alike, convenient evening hours combined with fun and unique offerings on a regular basis. Eighteen Bayfield businesses are currently signed on to participate in this event, held the first Friday of every month.

Visitors to Bayfield's initial "First Friday" event will be treated to an assortment of exceptional entertainment ranging from a live musical performance by Andy Noyes at What Goes 'Round/Bayfieldbooks.com, to scarve tying and pinning demonstrations with her new collection of pins at DONALEE DESIGNS' Studio, and watercolor painting demonstrations by France Austin Miller at Apostle Islands Booksellers. Many businesses will be offering light refreshments and debuting spectacular retail specials just in time for holiday shopping. Area restaurants, like Maggie's, will be serving up Friday night dinner specials to compliment the retail deals.

In addition to What Goes 'Round/Bayfieldbooks.com, DONALEE DESIGNS, Apostle Islands Booksellers, and Maggie's, the following Bayfield businesses will also be participating in the Dec. 3rd "First Friday" event: Big Water Café & Coffee Roasters, Brownstone Centre, The Candy Shoppe, ENCORE Resale Store, Inspire, Joanne's Scandinavian, Keeper of the Light, Northern Edge Restaurant, Oulu Glass, Rittenhouse Inn's Landmark Restaurant, Roxanne's Gifts, Stone's Throw, Sweet Sailing, and Wolfsong Wear.

The next two "First Friday" events are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 7th and Friday, Feb. 4th, 2011. Event hours are from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. "First Friday" event maps will be available online at www.bayfield.org, at participating shops, and in the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau's Visitor Center located at 42 South Broad Street.
