16th Annual Family Fun

Where else but the Bayfield and Madeline Island Ice Road can you run on Lake Superior?

With recent cooler temperatures and light winds the outlook is good for a successful Run on Water on March 1st.

This family fun event is open to people of all ages and skill levels who wish to run on the ice road of Lake Superior and raise money to support the Bayfield Recreation Center. Participants can usually choose to run, ski, or snowshoe the 5 mile course from Bayfield to Madeline Island and back on the Ice Road. This annual event has been scheduled to coincide with events of the Manypenny Madness put on by the Friends of the Bayfield Recreation Center. Also happening on Saturday, March 1st will be the Polar Bear Plunge and the Manypenny Madness Winter Carnival - both raising money for the Bayfield Recreation Center.

The cost for the Run on Water is $15 for adults and $10 for children ten or younger. Proceeds will benefit the Bayfield Recreation Center. Registrants who raise $50.00 or more will have the registration fee waived, and those who raise $100.00 or more will be given free admission to the Pizza Party at Maggie's during this weekend of great events.
