The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore ice caves are a vision not to be missed. While they are not yet accessible over ice, visitors can hike along the beach or explore the trails above the caves by ski or snowshoe. For the adventurous traveler, transportation to Madeline Island is always a fun experience during the winter months. Currently the ferry is still operating between Bayfield and Madeline Island, but soon you maybe able to ride in the wind sled or drive on the ice road.
