3) Relaxing, genuine small town feel
There’s a reason people constantly tell us Bayfield feels so real and genuine. It is. You can still find a candy store where they make chocolates, pastries and other treats right before your eyes. When fall rolls around, there’s still a heated pie-making contest at our famous Apple Fest celebration. And should you stop someone on the street to ask directions to the local diner, there’s a good chance they’ll just walk you right over. What won’t you find? A single fast-food restaurant or national chain, long lines or a friendly smile that isn’t the real deal and not a single stop light. Maybe that’s why the Chicago Tribune once ranked Bayfield as the “Best Little Town in the Midwest.” Then this year, a decade later, they did it again.
