Predicted Date of Peak Color
3rd Week of October

Last updated: 11/3/2023

The Bayfield peninsula received its first snow of the season the last week in October. The colors will be vibrant again next year! Thank you to all the leaf peepers who visited the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

Take a drive up Highway 13 a National Scenic Byway to view the changing seasons! Drive the rolling back roads on the ‘Fruit Loop’ and explore orchards/wineries/cideries for a great taste of autumn while surrounded by the best of the fall colors. The Fruit Loop is located just three miles from downtown Bayfield.

You still have time to plan your trip!

Check lodging availability and the Berry and Orchard Report to see what is ready for picking. Apples and other fall produce are still available through the end of October!
